There is no age limit to looking good and feeling great, says personal trainer and author Lesley Maxwell.

"It is never too early to start a child on good eating and exercise habits and never too late for the elderly to begin a healthier lifestyle," she says.

In her book Get the Body You Want – How to Look and Feel Great at Any Age, Ms Maxwell says that getting the body you want does not have to mean joining a gym or hiring a personal trainer.

"You can start by performing simple bodyweight exercises and later you can buy a couple of dumbbells and do all the workouts in your own lounge room."

Ms Maxwell says her book is not a quick-fix solution to weight loss and fitness, but rather an introduction to a healthier lifestyle.

"Learning how to eat properly and train effectively will empower you to achieve your ideal body weight and maintain it," she said.

That is why she has ensured that her book offers plenty of practical advice, such as finding the time to exercise when you have children. The book is user-friendly with plenty of photos and illustrations of exercises, as well as delicious recipes.
